Kurōdo (蔵人, Kurōdo) also known as Claude or Cloud, is a Mod Soul created by Kisuke Urahara as a Bount detector.

[show]

Appearance

Kurōdo's plushie body

Kurōdo is a bespectacled man with a thin mustache and two-tone hair color (black to the right, yellow to the left). He wears a white button-up shirt and gray tie under his multi-colored suit. He also wears a gray top hat and boots. While in plushy form, he is a pink rabbit-esque purse, also wearing a colorful suit and tie.

Personality

He is somewhat cowardly and is terrified of snakes. His long-windedness and actions often provide comic relief. He is also somewhat perverted, like Kon, or at the very least is thankful for the opportunity to be held by attractive women (being a purse helps in this regard). Rukia Kuchiki seems to like him because he resembles Chappy the Rabbit in his stuffed animal form. Orihime Inoue, whom he is partnered with once remarked that Rukia, she, and Kurōdo are in a love triangle.

Plot

Bount arc (anime only)

Note: Events occurring in this arc are only in the anime and do not constitute canon material.

In the beginning, Kurōdo appeared before Orihime Inoue, in the guise of her brother, Sora Inoue. He manages to capture her, and Ririn begins the game. She has them run all over the city, but reconvene at Orihime's apartment. There, he shapeshifts into Orihime and takes Chad. Noba and Ririn then created a maze, to which Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends must find a way out of. Uryū manages to do this, and their friends are returned. However, Kurōdo is actually imitating one of them. Yoruichi Shihōin and Soifon surprise him by running up the wall and kicked the window. Being so shocked, his cover was blown.

Later on, it is revealed that he is a Mod Soul who was sent with Ririn and Noba to test Ichigo and his friends' abilities, which he proved to be unsuccessful in. As it turns out, Urahara had predicted the Bount attack, and had implanted a Bount radar inside Kurōdo, Ririn and Noba, so that Ichigo could find and defeat them. When Urahara decides to pair each Mod Soul with Ichigo and his friends, he pairs Kurōdo with Orihime and instructs her (and the others) to put the Mod Soul within a plushie toy, so they can remain inconspicuous.

After the Bitto are released, Kurōdo, Rukia and Orihime fight the Bount Yoshi, but during the fight, Mabashi interrupts and scares her off; he then decides to deal with them himself. They each try to fight off Mabashi, but once his doll possesses Rukia, both he and Orihime are both unable to fight back (mostly due to Orihime's refusal to harm Rukia). Shūhei Hisagi arrives and assists them, but ultimately, Orihime uses her healing powers to force Mabashi's doll out of Rukia. Before any further fighting can continue, Maki Ichinose arrives and knocks out Mabashi, taking him away and ending the battle before any further fighting can continue. He is then taken back to Urahara Shop where he stays with Kisuke Urahara and Tessai Tsukabishi.

Arrancar Arc

Because he, Ririn, and Noba were designed to help out with the Bounts, Kurōdo and his fellow Mod Souls rarely intervened with the Arrancar battles. However, a trio of Arrancar invade the Human World, determined to find Kisuke Urahara to make him explain how the Hōgyoku works. While the other two deal with the Shinigami stationed around Karakura Town, the leader, Patros arrives at Urahara Shop, hoping to find the owner. However, Renji Abarai arrives and begins to battle Patros. Kurōdo, Ririn, and Noba decide to assist as well, insisting that it was their duty to aid in combat; however, even with the Mod Souls' help, Renji is still being beaten. However, Ririn manages to spot the weakness in Patros' attacks; he needs to resheathe his sword (or, in his released state, withdraw one of his appendages) in order to gather energy for another attack. With this knowledge in mind, Ririn uses her illusions to force Patros to fire off an attack, but before he can resheathe his appendage, Noba uses his warping powers to have Kurōdo intercept the appendage and prevent it from being retracted. This provided enough of a distraction for Renji to finish off Patros with a Hikōtsu Taihō. Afterwards, Urahara, Chad, and Tessai return, and Urahara reveals that the Hōgyoku that Patros and his henchmen had was a fake, thinking that Aizen used them as a distraction for some other purpose (which was so Ulquiorra Cifer could reanalyze the place where he and Yammy Rialgo encountered Orihime Inoue, since Aizen began taking interest in her powers).

Beast Swords arc (anime only)

Note: Events occurring in this arc are only in the anime and do not constitute canon material.

In the living world, it is learned that several Zanpakuto spirits were brainwashed to betray their Shinigami partners by a rogue Zanpakuto spirit named Muramasa. Although Ichigo and the Shinigami are able to stop Muramasa restore most the spirits, several of them already succeeded in killing, resulting in them transforming into what are known as Tōjū. While Captain Hitsugaya comes to explain and aid in the situation, Kurodo feels that Muramasa deserves no pity for being betrayed by his own Shinigami partner after how much trouble he caused.[1]

Powers & Abilities

Shapeshifting: Kurōdo was designed with the unique ability the change shape, able to match a person's appearance and voice without them noticing. He can sometimes replicate abilities too. However, as Patros noted, anyone who senses spirit energy would be able to tell him apart from the real person. He is also an accomplished actor as he was able to pose as Chad for a good deal to almost perfectly fool Ichigo, Orihime, Uryū, and Renji. He also successfully passed himself off as both Orihime and her brother Sora.

  • Ability Mimicry : Kurōdo's aforementioned shape-shifting also grants the capacity to enable him access to the abilities of the person/entity he's imitating at that time, along with their corresponding weaknesses. However, he is not able to mimic their power level to the same caliber, effectively disabling him from using much more advanced techniques that the original person that he's impersonating may or may not be already capable of, like a Shinigami's Bankai. In combat, he generally shifts into Renji's guise in order to fight.

Bount Detection: Like Ririn and Noba, Kisuke Urahara created Kurōdo with the ability to detect Bount reishi, thereby being able to locate a Bount or its doll.

Noba (之芭, Noba) (sometimes incorrectly romanizes as Nova) is a Bount sensor created by Kisuke Urahara.

[show]

Appearance

Noba's plushie body

In his Gigai, he has the appearance of a young man, wearing a fur coat and a zippered mask, concealing some of his soft red hair and his aqua blue eyes. On his back is a blue shield, used in conjunction with his powers. After fighting the Bount, Sawatari, we see he is thin, with only a few natural muscles. His overall attire makes him look somewhat like a ninja. When out of his Gigai, he inhabits an anthropomorphic turtle plushy in gray dress trousers and a white ruffled shirt with a red bow tie, which Chad purchased specifically for him.

Personality

Similar to his partner, Yasutora Sado, Noba is unusually shy and quiet. When around women, he will zip his mask (in Gigai) or pull his head down into his shirt (in plushy) to show emotion. One example of this is when Rukia Kuchiki picks Noba up in his stuffed animal form and holds him close to her face, he is seen to blush at the close contact and lowers his head into his shirt. When he works together with Rangiku Matsumoto while fighting one of the Bount, he changed out of his Gigai because they had to touch.

Compared to his far louder and more verbal teammates, Noba is very uncomplaining and easy to get along with. He normally fades into the background, and doesn't annoy anyone, humans and Shinigami alike. In one episode, Renji spits coffee on the table, and Noba cleans it up, then sugars the coffee, all without a word. This goes to show he is the most likely of the Mod Souls to get the job done.

Plot

Bount arc (anime only)

Note: Events occurring in this arc are only in the anime and do not constitute canon material.

At the beginning, Kisuke sent him and the other Mod Souls to test Ichigo and his friends. Ririn would call and tell them what to do, usually involving a lot of running. Noba was instructed to take Orihime Inoue and Chad. In order to get them back, Ichigo, Uryū, and Renji would have to find their way out of a maze, created by Ririn.[1] Uryū manages to do this, and they return their friends. However, one is an imposter. In order to win, they must figure out who it is. Yoruichi then surprises the fake Chad by climbing up the side of the wall. The final game involves rescuing the real Chad from an hourglass before a giant gate, created by Noba, swallows them. Ichigo, relying on his Bankai, looses the game. Kisuke then takes them back to his place where he explains the danger of the Bounts.[2]

Each one of the Mod Souls are assigned to a Human, and Noba is partnered with Chad. Shortly after, he is implanted in his plushy body. They encounter a Bount, Ryō Utagawa, but let him get away. He proceeds to attack Uryū, and the latter is taken to the hospital by Ryo's adversary, Yoshino Sōma. It was there that Hō and Ban's water dolls attack. Due to Noba's new body, though, he is only able to teleport about two meters. Still, he manages to disperse the dolls by severing the twins' telepathic connection. Ganju Shiba then appears and uses fireworks to defeat them.

Ichigo sparks the idea that they can inhabits Gigais any time they choose, if they help each other. He, Chad, Ururu, and Rangiku then meet the Bount, Sawatari. His doll uses a similar method of bending space as Noba, so he can sense just before he surfaces, and protect his friends from attack. Ururu, though, still gets swallowed by the doll. In order to save her, Rangiku and Chad distract him long enough to push him through Noba's shield. Sawatari, though, fights his way out, ripping off Noba's shirt and knocking him unconscious. Rangiku then takes out his soul candy and combines his Bount tracking ability with her Kidō. With that, they were able to attack Sawatari just as he surfaced. Afterwards, Sawatari retreated, saying they would finish it later.

When the Bounts break through to the Soul Society, Noba plays a smaller role, usually hanging on Chad's back and watching the fights. When they return to the Human World, they decide to live with Kisuke, as the Bounts are now gone and they are of no use to their partners anymore.

Arrancar arc

Noba shows up a few times in the arrancar arc. He helps Kon escape Grand Fisher and aids Renji with Ririn and Kurodo.

While Captain Hitsugaya comes to aid in the situation, his lieutenant Rangiku is more interested in having fun, including taking flirty pictures of herself and her Zanpakuto spirit Haineko in photo booths, which Noba blushes at the sight of.[3]

Powers and Abilities

Noba using his powers to teleport

Skilled Tactician Despite being unusually shy, he is somewhat analytical and adept at strategic combat. When fighting the Bounts with Rangiku, the two formed a plan of diversion and sneak attack that worked temporarily on their opponent.

Bount Detection: Along with Kurōdo and Ririn, Noba was created to sense the Reishi residue left over by the Bounts. This is his most useful skill while in plushy form.

Teleportation: Noba has the power to teleport himself and others to any location he's been to. He can also use his spiritual sense to teleport to the location of those with spiritual powers. When he is in his plushy, his teleportation range is limited to about two meters.

Noba, redirecting Zabimaru
  • Wormholes: He can create wormholes to redirect ranged attacks, both physical and energy based, back at the enemy. He does this by using the shield on his back as a focus. Also, he was able to "erase" other objects by sending them to another dimension.

Ririn (りりん, Ririn, Lirin in the English Dub) is a Modified Soul, created by Kisuke Urahara to serve as a Bount detector.

[show]

Appearance

Ririn's plushie body

Ririn, while in her gigai form, is a small girl with short blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She wears a pink, fur-trimmed coat, a black bird-shaped cape, and red boots. When she was testing Ichigo and his friends, she was often seen with a pink clock with a golden heart handle. While not in her gigai, she inhabits an anthropomorphic bird plushie with a blue hooded coat and red bow tie.

Personality

She acts as the leader of the trio (herself, Noba, and Kurōdo), and has a fondness for games. She is partnered with Ichigo Kurosaki. At first she disliked Ichigo due to their conflicting personalities, but now she has grown to be very fond of him, even becoming jealous of Rukia Kuchiki's close relationship with Ichigo. She can be petty and arrogant at times, but she shows real concern for her friends. She has stepped into harm's way more than a few times to help save Ichigo, Rukia, Kon, and others. She often looks down on Kon as inferior, which causes frequent arguments between the two.

Plot

Bount arc (anime only)

Note: Events occurring in this arc are only in the anime and do not constitute canon material.

Ririn instructs Kurōdo to disguise himself and retrieve Orihime Inoue. She then tests Ichigo Kurosaki and the rest of his friends by giving them a location and time limit to get there. Once that was over, Kurōdo uses Orihime's appearance to capture Yasutora Sado. Ririn uses Noba's ability to create a maze, which Uryū Ishida finds a way out of. Keeping her word, she returns Chad and Orihime, only now Kurōdo is posing as one of them. During their test to locate the imposter, Ichigo chooses Chad because he was startled by Yoruichi Shihōin and Soifon running up a wall. During their last test, Ichigo realizes his Bankai isn't working and looses the game. Ririn then proves to be in league with Kisuke Urahara, and that she and her friends are Mod Souls.

After explaining to Ichigo and his friends about the Bounts, Urahara decides to assign each Mod Soul to Ichigo and his friends. Ririn gets assigned to Ichigo, which initially upsets her, since she doesn't like him at first. She also meets Kon at Ichigo's house shortly after (accidentally) acquiring a stuffed bird plushie body (beating him up because she wasn't satisfied with the body she ended up with). She later joins Ichigo and his friends in assaulting Jin Kariya's manor, but she, Kurōdo, and Noba are beaten by Maki Ichinose.

After the Bitto are released, Ichigo goes hunting for the Bounts along with Ririn and end up fighting Gō Koga and his doll, Dalk. Wanting to save his friend, Keigo Asano, Ichigo tries hard to fight Dalk (Ririn even assisted him a little bit), but he is eventually cornered and is ultimately separated from him (though, Hollow Ichigo briefly takes control of Ichigo's body, and later, Izuru Kira arrives to assist Ichigo, thus forcing Koga to retreat). Later, Ririn arrives at Urahara Shop (with Kon) to get help for Ichigo, but finds out that he already arrived beforehand and that he is fine.

The next day, Ririn joins Ichigo and his friends when they decide to assault the Bounts' hideout. However, Ugaki's Doll takes them all by surprise, and she, along with the rest of the Mod Souls, is forced to stay behind with Chad, Orihime, Rukia, and Rangiku. When Uryū Ishida stabilizes the Bounts' Senkaimon, she joins Ichigo and his friends when they head into Soul Society to fight the Bounts.

Due to a fit of jealousy towards Rukia, Ririn flies off on her own to look for the Bounts, but she ends up finding Rukia after she gets into a fight with Yoshi. She tries to assist Rukia to fight off Yoshi, but Yoshi is able to defeat Rukia anyway, and Ririn sustains some injuries as well. They are both saved by the timely arrival of Byakuya Kuchiki, Rukia's adoptive older brother.

Arrancar arc

Early on, Ichigo goes out to dispatch a Hollow, which he lets Kon inhabit his body. However, Grand Fisher - now evolved into an Arrancar - returns to Karakura Town, seeking revenge on Ichigo. Grand Fisher finds Kon and mistakes him for Ichigo (since he is in Ichigo's body) and he chases him throughout the town, but Ririn, Kurōdo, and Noba save Kon and try to fight off Grand Fisher, but he manages to expose Kurōdo and Ririn's illusion and manages to catch up to Kon again. However before Kon could be killed (or Ichigo's body could be destroyed), Isshin Kurosaki arrives, donned in Shinigami robes. Ririn, Kurōdo, and Noba watch him as he kills Grand Fisher. Later, Kisuke Urahara arrives and reveals that he knew that Isshin was also a Shinigami. Urahara requests to all four Mod Souls to keep Isshin's Shinigami status a secret from Ichigo and his friends. They also discuss Aizen's plans and reveal their knowledge about the Vizards.

Later, a trio of Arrancar invade Karakura Town, determined to find Urahara and make him explain to them how the Hōgyoku works. Patros the leader of the trio, arrives at Urahara Shop, hoping to find Urahara, but instead has to fight Renji Abarai. Ririn, Kurōdo, and Noba decide to fight as well, but even with their help, Renji seems unable to beat them. However, Ririn manages to figure out Patros' strategy; he needs to sheathe his sword (or, in his released state, withdraw his appendage) in order to gather energy for another attack. She decides to confront Patros on her own and sets up many illusion copies of herself, Kurōdo, and Noba. At this point, Patros is already fully aware of Ririn's illusion powers and fires an attack to incapacitate Ririn, but this turns out to be her plan. Noba uses his powers to warp Kurōdo to a point where he is able to stop Patros from withdrawing his appendage, so he would no longer be able to attack. This provided enough of a distraction for Renji to emerge and finish Patros off with a Hikōtsu Taihō. Urahara, Chad, and Tessai finally return after the battle has ended, and Urahara reveals that the Hōgyoku Patros obtained was a fake. He further speculates that Sōsuke Aizen decided to use these rebels as a distraction for some unknown purpose (which was really so Ulquiorra Cifer could reanalyze the site where he and Yammy Riyalgo first encountered Orihime Inoue, since Aizen gained an interest in her powers).

Later, during the aftermath of Ulquiorra's invasion of Karakura Town, she - along with her fellow Mod Souls, Jinta Hanakari, Ururu Tsumugiya, Tessai Tsukabishi, and Kisuke Urahara - sees off Ichigo Kurosaki, Yasutora Sado, and Uryū Ishida when they head into Hueco Mundo to rescue Orihime.

While Ririn and her fellow Mod Souls argue about whether or not to pity Muramasa as he was also betrayed by his Shinigami partner, Rangiku and her Zanpakuto spirit Haineko arrive and barge in, much to Ririn's anger.[1]

Powers & Abilities

Illusions: Ririn was designed with the unique ability to make illusions. She can change the appearance of an environment, which she uses to confuse opponents, then either Kurōdo, Noba, or herself will charge in to attack.

Bount Detection: Like Kurōdo and Noba, Ririn was a Mod Soul designed to detect Bount reishi, thereby she can locate a Bount or its doll.

Keen Intellect: Ririn is also clever and intelligent, as she was able to combine her powers with Noba's to produce a complex labyrinth that only Uryū was able to figure out after a while. Her love for games only fueled her imagination, making her quite the clever trickster.

Enhanced Speed

Appearances in Other Media

In Bleach: Dark Souls, Ririn inhabits her plushy body and uses her teammates, Noba and Kurōdo, in her specials. It should be noted that their names are misprinted. She is one of the few non-movie anime-only characters to appear in a video game.

Ururu Tsumugiya (紬屋 雨, Tsumugiya Ururu) is an employee of the Urahara Shop.

Contents

[show]

Appearance

Ururu is a young-looking girl who wears a white t-shirt with the Urahara Shop logo in pink print and a knee-length, pink skirt with white dots. She has purple eyes and long, black hair with a purple tint. It is parted down the middle, with two strands of her bangs in the middle of her face, opposing each other, and the rest in pigtails with pink ties.

Personality

Kisuke reassures Ururu when she cries while apologizing to him.

Ururu is a very quiet and shy person and is very polite to those around her. When asked to help, she does so happily.[2] When she mistakenly sells poor quality merchandise to a customer, she becomes upset and cries, apologizing for her error.[3] Ururu seems to respond robotically when injured or when Hollows appear. Jinta Hanakari also mentions that she reacts to strange spiritual presences, such as those of Arrancar. During such times, Ururu takes on a rather simplistic view of right and wrong. She considers those that cause harm (relative to her) as enemies, and believes that enemies must be eliminated, though she never attacks Jinta, despite his tendency to pick on her. She and Jinta are seen bickering a lot. Jinta tells her what to do, despite her being three years older,[4] and she usually does it without question. She seems meek and timid, but this is at odds with her great power.

Plot

Agent of the Shinigami arc

Ururu and the others prepare to head out to recover Kon.

When he is supposed to be sweeping the area in front of the Urahara shop, Jinta fantasizes about being a baseball player. Ururu tells him that Tessai will be mad at him for not sweeping. When she suggests that he is afraid of Tessai, Jinta shoves his brush into her hair, saying that she is annoying and below him in status. Rukia Kuchiki arrives at the store and grabs his brush, asking to see Urahara.[5] When Rukia asks if her order of some Soul Candy has arrived, Kisuke tells Ururu to bring the order from storage. Searching for a box marked "new stuff", she finds a box and brings its contents to Rukia. Urahara later discovers that the box is actually marked with "poor merchandise", and contained Kon.[6] Jinta asks her to read what is written on the box. When Ururu struggles to pronounce it, Jinta corrects her and tells Ururu that she sold a poor quality item to a customer and starts pulling her hair. Kisuke tells him to stop, saying that it is his fault for not disposing of it. Tessai says that regardless of who is at fault, it could be trouble.[7] Ururu apologizes to Kisuke, saying that it was her fault and asks him if he is mad. Urahara reaches out to her, causing her to recoil. He places his hand on her head, and tells her that it is no big deal and asks why she is crying. He says that they are a team and not to worry about it, as he will take care of it. Kisuke comforts her as she continues to cry. Tessai informs Urahara that they are ready, and the four set out to recover the merchandise, with Ururu carrying her cannon.[3] Ururu is present when they find Kon and Urahara removes the mod-soul from Ichigo's body.[8]

During Don Kanonji's first trip to Karakura Town, Ururu accompanies Urahara, Tessai and Jinta to the abandoned hospital where he is filming his TV show. When Kisuke transforms Ichigo into his Shinigami, Rukia asks what he is scheming. Urahara replies that Ururu and Jinta love Don Kanonji's show and they wanted to watch it in person no matter what, leaving him with no choice but to bring them to the live filming.[9] One day, while sweeping outside the shop, Ururu notices a cat and informs Tessai and Urahara.[10]

Ururu attacks Ichigo.

After Ichigo loses his Shinigami powers, Kisuke offers to restore them through a number of lessons. In a secret underground training space beneath the shop, Urahara changes Ichigo into his soul form and tells him that he will have difficulty moving in this form without his powers. He instructs Ichigo to fight Ururu, who presents him with protective head gear and gloves. Ichigo initially refuses to fight a young girl, who tells him to make sure he puts on the protective gear before starting to fight, or else he will die. Ururu attacks Ichigo, who disappears in a cloud of dust.[11] Ichigo emerges from the dust and runs to pick up the protective gear. Ichigo thinks that he will be killed instantly if he is hit by one of her attacks, so puts on the head gear. However, when Ururu attacks again, he decides to run, saying that head gear is not enough to defend against attacks of this level. He realizes that as he is able to run and dodge her attacks, then he can match her speed and decides to attack her head gear so as not to injure her. However, he hits her cheek, drawing blood. Ururu leaps onto his arm and delivers a powerful kick, which sends Ichigo into a large rock. Urahara catches her leg, and says that the fight is over.[12] Ichigo accepts defeat and demands a rematch. Urahara however, tells him that he has passed the lesson, saying that he only told him to knock her out before she knocked him out, and that there was no way he could win in his current form, as her fighting skills are good enough to fight Shinigami. The fight had succeeded in restoring some of his power.[13]

Afterwards, Ichigo is sent to the bottom of a deep shaft, which Ururu had dug, where he undergoes an accelerated Encroachment. While in the shaft, Ururu and Jinta spit on him.[14] When Ichigo begins to transform into a Hollow, Ururu says that she is preparing a rescue operation and grabs her left arm, which is pointing into the shaft. Kisuke stops her, saying that he is his transformation is not occurring as usual.[15] When there is a large explosion in the shaft caused by the awakening of Ichigo's Shinigami and Hollow powers, Kisuke shields Ururu and Jinta from the explosion. When Ichigo emerges from the dust wearing a Hollow mask, Ururu and Jinta prepare to fight him. However, Ichigo shatters the mask with his broken sword and removes it.[16] Along with Tessai and Jinta, she watches as Ichigo and Urahara fight in the third and final lesson, with Tessai ensuring the safety of the two children when the fighting comes too close to them. [17][18]

Soul Society arc

When Don Kanonji attempts to boost ratings for his declining TV show by creating the Karakura Superheroes, Ururu joins the group, along with Jinta. She is given the title of Karakura Pink. The group slay Hollows and protect Karakura Town, during the absence of Ichigo and Rukia, much to the chagrin of Zennosuke Kurumadani, Rukia's official replacement.[19][20]

When Ichigo and company return to the Human World after saving Rukia from execution, they exit the Dangai Precipice World in the sky above Karakura Town. Ururu uses her cannon to launch a large cloth at the group, wrapping them up in it. Tessai catches them and sets the group down on a flying rug, where Ururu unravels them.[21]

Bount arc (anime only)

Note: Events occurring in this arc are only in the anime and do not constitute canon material.

With the appearance of the Bounts, Soifon and the Onmitsukidō journey to the Human World to gather information. After a talk with Soifon, Urahara calls Ururu and Jinta and tells them to do some outside work for him. While dashing down the hallway, she runs into Uryū Ishida, who is looking rather unwell. She comforts him and asks what's wrong, but he tells her to run along to Urahara. [22] Later, she and Jinta deliver Urahara's newly developed Bount sensor to Ichigo and Rukia. Suddenly, they are attacked by Yoshi, and Rukia tells Ururu to go find Sado and Noba. When she reaches the group, Sawatari emerges out of the ground. [23] She proceeds to fights him and his doll, Baura, along with Rangiku Matsumoto, Noba, and Yasutora Sado. With its ability to manipulate space, Baura swallows Ururu when she tries to protect Sado from harm, and Noba and Rangiku create a plan to rescue her. Sado fires a shot at Baura and manages to get the doll to cough her up. Sawatari then retreats.

Arrancar arc

Ururu surprises Yylfordt.

When Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez invades Karakura Town, he sends his Fracción to fight those with spiritual pressure. Yylfordt Granz attacks Renji, who is staying at Kisuke's shop. Ururu sleepwalks onto the roof of the house, gazing up at the battle. Jinta realizes that she is reacting to the Arrancar's unusual Reiatsu and entering Genocide Mode. Jinta tries to stop her, but she launches herself up towards the Arrancar and kicks Yylfordt's head, bloodying the left of his face. She then grabs the Arrancar's throat, saying that he is a danger, and that dangers must be eliminated. Ururu repeatedly punches Yylfordt in the face, prompting Renji to wonder what she is. The Arrancar tries to slash Ururu with his Zanpakutō, but she dodges, releasing him. An incensed Yylfordt enters his Resurrección state and gores Ururu in the chest with one of his horns.[24] After explaining about an Arrancar's Zanpakutō release to Renji, he hurls her through the air. Jinta catches her and attacks Yylfordt with his bat, but is unable to harm him. Renji places his Bankai in between Yylfordt and Jinta and the limp Ururu, preventing the Arrancar from attacking them.[25] Tessai heals her injury, with Urahara by her side. She calls Kisuke's name, who tells him that it is okay.[26] Later, when her injuries have healed, Jinta tells her that she should be happy that she has recovered and tries to make her celebrate by jumping into the air. Ururu, however, says that she would like to take it easy, since some of her injuries had only just healed. Jinta continues anyway, hurting her hand. Urahara tells them not to jump too much.[27]

Just before the surprise attack by Patros, Menis, and Aldegor, Tessai, Urahara & Sado leave the store in the care of Renji, Ururu and Jinta while they go to pick up some supplies. Tessai tells Ururu and Jinta to be sure they eat three meals a day and brush their teeth while they are away.[28] When the rebel Arrancar attack the Urahara Shop, Ururu and Jinta rush to tell Urahara that Renji is fighting with the rebel Arrancar. While running back to the store, they briefly come across Ulquiorra Cifer, but he quickly leaves.[29]

Hueco Mundo arc

Ururu as the Karakura-Raizer Tiny-Devil.

When Urahara coerced Kon into becoming the Karakura-Raizer, Ururu joined his team as the Karakura-Raizer Tiny-Devil, wearing an outfit that had claws which allow her to cut through her enemies. While initially the group hold their own against flying bird-like Hollows, an injured Zennosuke appears and warns them of an approaching evil. A female Arrancar appears with a giant fortress floating above Karakura Town.[30] While the team regroups in Urahara's training room, Ururu treats Zennosuke's injuries. After learning that the fortress is made of many different Hollows bunched together, the group forms a plan and assaults the fortress. They successfully defeat the Arrancar, along with the fortress itself. Afterwards, all the members of the team except Ururu are put to sleep with the rest of the town as it is transferred to Soul Society in preparation for the upcoming battles in the fake Karakura Town. [31]

Equipment

Ururu with her weapon, Senren Bakusatsu Taiho.

Senren Bakusatsu Taiho: Wrapped in cloth covered with writing, it is a multi-barreled shoulder cannon,[32] which can turn into a rocket launcher to deal with powerful opponents. It can also launch a large cloth to capture targets.[33] In the anime, the cloth wrapped around it is plain.[34]

Powers and Abilities

  • High Spiritual Power Ururu was able to fight and injure an Arrancar who had been fighting Renji Abarai, who was using his Bankai.[24]
  • Enhanced Strength: Despite her meekness and size, she is terrifyingly strong to the point of attacking with lethal punches and kicks. A single kick was enough to draw blood from Yylfordt Granz.[35]
  • Enhanced Speed: She can move at high speeds, catching both Ichigo and an Arrancar off guard, as well as dodging attacks from close range.[36]
  • Suspension in the Air: Ururu has the ability to be suspended in the air while spinning like the Shinigami can, as if there is an invisible platform in the air.[37]
  • Adept hand-to-hand combatant: Ururu defeated Ichigo using nothing other than punches and kicks,[38] and was able to injure and force Yylfordt Granz into his Resurrección form using those same skills.[39]
  • Genocide Mode: When Ururu senses unusual spiritual pressure, such as an Arrancar's spiritual pressure, she will react to it by sleepwalking and will attack and assault those she perceives as threats and enemies.[40]

Appearance

Jinta is a small, red-haired boy. He wears a white t-shirt with the Urahara Shop logo printed on the front of it and blue three-quarter length trousers, the bottoms of which are noticeably turned up.

edit Personality

As an employee of the Urahara Sop, Jinta is supposed to do manual labor at the store, such as cleaning. However, he usually slacks off, fantasizing about playing soccer[2] or baseball[3], and forces Ururu Tsumugiya to do most of the work. Though he frequently bullies her, he does care for Ururu, as he recovers her body after she is injured by an Arrancar and sits by quietly as she is healed. Though he is more knowledgeable than one might expect given his young appearance, he is still childish and immature, often calling Renji Abarai a "moocher" (居候, isōrō). Ururu states that he cleans because he is afraid of Tessai, though he denies this, saying that he could not clean if he was afraid of him.[4] Jinta has a crush on Yuzu Kurosaki, calling her "The Goddess". He also charged her with only 500 Yen for a extremely large amount of candies and regards anything she gives to him as "sacred".

Plot

Agent of the Shinigami arc

Jinta and the others prepare to head out to recover Kon.

Rukia Kuchiki arrives at the store and grabs his brush, saying the he is the same as ever. When he shows her in to the store, Tessai tells Jinta that the store is not open yet. Jinta says that he had no choice, as she insisted on entering.[5] When Urahara discovers that Ururu accidentally gave Rukia Kon instead of her order of Soul Candy, Jinta asks Ururu to read what is written on the box. When she struggles to pronounce it, Jinta corrects her and tells Ururu that she sold a poor quality item to a customer and starts pulling her hair. Kisuke tells him to stop, saying that it is his fault for not disposing of it. Tessai says that regardless of who is at fault, it could be trouble.[6] Later, Tessai informs Urahara that they are ready, and the four set out to recover the merchandise, with Jinta carrying a weapon.[7] Jinta is present when they find Kon and Urahara removes the mod-soul from Ichigo's body, complaining that he thought they were going to see some action for the first time in a long time.[8]

During Don Kanonji's first trip to Karakura Town, Jinta accompanies Urahara, Tessai and Ururu to the abandoned hospital where he is filming his TV show. When Kisuke transforms Ichigo into his Shinigami, Rukia asks what he is scheming. Urahara replies that Ururu and Jinta love Don Kanonji's show and they wanted to watch it in person no matter what, leaving him with no choice but to bring them to the live filming.[9] While sweeping outside the store one day, a cat arrives at Urahara's shop. Jinta asks Tessai why Urahara is taking such an interest in the cat. Tessai tells him that its name is Yoruichi, and it is Kisuke's only relative, prompting Jinta to call Urahara pitiful.[10]

Jinta and Ururu tease Ichigo in the Shattered Shaft.

After Ichigo loses his Shinigami powers, Jinta watches him undergoing the lessons Urahara subjects him to in a bid to restore his powers. For Ichigo's second lesson, Ichigo is sent to the bottom of a deep shaft with his arms bound behind his back, where he undergoes an accelerated Encroachment. When Ichigo tries to scale the walls without the use of his arms, Jinta says that he is crazy and cannot even climb three meters that way. Jinta asks him if he is hungry. When Ichigo replies that he is not, Jinta tells him that if he feels hungry in his soul form, it is a sign that he will soon become a Hollow. He then tells him that thirst is alright, and offers to let Ichigo drink his spit, telling Ururu to do the same.[11] On Ichigo's third day in the shaft, Jinta runs down the side of the shaft with a platter of fruit, most of which require hands to eat. He tells Ichigo that he thought he would be hungry by now. Ichigo tells him that he is not hungry and that there is still plenty of his Chain of Fate left. Jinta replies that he has been in the shaft for seventy hours, and that the final encroachment is much stronger than the others. [12]

When there is a large explosion in the shaft caused by the awakening of Ichigo's Shinigami and Hollow powers, Jinta sees something emerge and asks if it is Ichigo, while Kisuke shields Jinta and Ururu from the explosion. Jinta repeatedly calls out to Ichigo using several nicknames. When Ichigo emerges from the dust wearing a Hollow mask, Jinta asks if he is a Shinigami or Hollow and prepares to fight him with Ururu, telling Ichigo not to look down on him. However, Ichigo shatters the mask with his broken sword and removes it, causing Jinta to say that he had not turned into a Hollow after all.[13] Along with Tessai and Ururu, he watches as Ichigo and Urahara fight in the third and final lesson, with Tessai ensuring the safety of the two children when the fighting comes too close to them. [14][15] When Ichigo releases his Shikai, Jinta asks if that is his Zanpakutō, commenting on its lack of a proper hilt and guard. He says that it is not a complete sword and that his previous one was better.[16]

Soul Society arc

When Don Kanonji attempts to boost ratings for his declining TV show by creating the Karakura Superheroes, Jinta joins the group, along with Ururu. He is given the title of Karakura Red, which he shares with Karin Kurosaki. The group slay Hollows and protect Karakura Town, during the absence of Ichigo and Rukia, much to the chagrin of Zennosuke Kurumadani, Rukia's official replacement.[17][18]

When Ichigo and company return to the Human World after saving Rukia from execution, they exit the Dangai Precipice World in the sky above Karakura Town. Ururu uses her cannon to launch a large cloth at the group, wrapping them up in it. Jinta prepares to strike them with his bat, but Tessai appears behind him grabs the ball, squashing Jinta between it and himself. Tessai sets the group down on a flying rug, with Jinta lying down on the rug.[19]

Arrancar arc

Jinta rescues Ururu and attacks Yylfordt Granz.

Jinta watches Renji's fight with Yylfordt Granz, commenting that Renji is losing. When Ururu sleepwalks onto the roof of the shop, he asks why she is there, saying that he had told her to sleep. As Ururu gazes up at the battle, Jinta realizes that she is reacting to the Arrancar's unusual Reiatsu and entering Genocide Mode. He tries to grab her, but she launches herself up towards the Arrancar before he can.[20] When Ururu is gored by the Arrancar and flung through the air, Jinta grabs her and attacks Yylfordt with his bat, but is unable to hurt him. Renji places his Bankai in between Yylfordt and Jinta and the limp Ururu, preventing the Arrancar from attacking them.[21] Later that night, as Tessai heals Ururu, Jinta sits just outside the room, dismayed.[22] Later, when her injuries have healed, Jinta tells her that she should be happy that she has recovered and tries to make her celebrate by jumping into the air. Ururu, however, says that she would like to take it easy, since some of her injuries had only just healed. Jinta continues anyway, hurting her hand. Urahara tells them not to jump too much.[23]

Just before the surprise attack by Patros, Menis, and Aldegor, Tessai, Urahara & Sado leave the store in the care of Renji, Jinta and Ururu while they go to pick up some supplies. Tessai tells Jinta and Ururu to be sure they eat three meals a day and brush their teeth while they are away. As they leave, Jinta says that they are wasting their time since the store hardly sells anything anyway. Tessai hears this runs back and asks him if he said anything bad about the store, scaring Jinta.[24] When the rebel Arrancar attack the Urahara Shop, Jinta and Ururu rush to tell Urahara that Renji is fighting with the rebel Arrancar. While running back to the store, they briefly come across Ulquiorra Cifer, but he quickly leaves.[25]

Equipment

Jinta was originally portrayed with a gun-like weapon.

Kanabō: His primary weapon is a large kanabō, which he can use to beat others (mainly Hollows, but also Kon) to a bloody pulp.

Gun: In the manga, Jinta is also shown with a large gun-like weapon.[26] This is replaced by his bat in the anime version of the episode, and he has not been seen with it since.

Powers and Abilities

High spiritual energy: Being able to see and fight spirits and being able to stand in the air, it should be noted that Jinta has a considerable amount of spiritual energy.

Strength: Considering his age, Jinta is quite strong. He is able to use his over-sized iron club with ease.

Kanabō Specialist: Jinta typically fights opponents with his kanabō, using basic attacks.
